The 30 youth sponsored by the Jigawa State Government under the administration of His Excellency Malam Umar Namadi FCA are currently undergoing an intensive Tractor Master Technician Training in China. This training, part of the government's 12-Point Agenda, emphasizes youth empowerment, agricultural innovation, and sustainable economic development.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Jigawa State Economic Empowerment and Youth Employment Agency (JISYEEA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, has entered its second phase as the trainees dive deeper into practical and theoretical aspects of modern tractor technology.
The training program, held at one of China’s top agricultural machinery institutes, is designed to provide hands-on experience in tractor diagnostics, maintenance, and advanced operational techniques. Participants have also been introduced to cutting-edge technologies, including smart farming solutions, precision agriculture tools, and sustainable equipment practices.
One of the trainees, while sharing his experience, remarked:
"This opportunity is life-changing. We are not only learning about tractor technology but also understanding how to apply these skills to revolutionize agriculture back home in Jigawa."

The Ministry of Agriculture has also highlighted plans to integrate these trainees into ongoing mechanization projects upon their return. The goal is to create a robust system of agricultural support that will uplift farmers and boost Jigawa’s economy.
